The 2007 FCIAC Cross Country Championships will be held on Thursday, October 18 at Waveny Park in New Canaan.
First race begins at 3:00.
Rain Date: Friday, October 19, same time and location.
DO NOT PARK AT NCHS! ALL BUS DROP OFF AND PICK UP WILL BE AT THE WAVENY POOL.
DIRECTIONS:
From the North and West: Go past the entrance to NCHS. Take a left at the next light onto Rt. 106. Proceed .2 miles and make a left onto Lapham Rd. Go up the hill and make the first left into the Waveny Pool parking lot. Bus parking to your left.
From the South and East: Take rt. 106 north. Proceed .6 of a mile past the Merrit Pky. Bridge and make a right onto Lapham Rd. Go up the hill and make the first left into the Waveny Pool parking lot. Bus parking to your left.
SPECTATOR PARKING WILL BE AT THE WAVENY POOL PARKING LOT AS WELL AS OTHER IDENTIFIED LOTS IN THE PARK
Cost for spectator parking will be $5.00. Please inform your team's parents.
Meet headquarters will be at Waveny Park, by the finish line.
Bathroom facilities and post-race awards presentation will be at the Waveny Pool across the field from the start/finish line area.
Teams may enter up to eight (8) runners (7 will score) in the girls and boys varsity races. The girls and boys JV races have unlimited entries. The JV races will be non team scoring. Individual medals will be given to the top 10 athletes in the JV races. There are unlimited entries in the coed freshmen race which is open to first year freshmen only. There is no team scoring or individual medals for the freshmen race this year. National Federation Rules will apply to the conduct of this meet (including jewelry!).
If you have already submitted a roster, a copy has been sent to you (boys and girls are combined by school). A complete roster of all athletes is posted online here. Please check it carefully and reply to clubct@clubct.org with any changes, additions, or deletions by Tuesday evening.
Computer generated race numbers will be in race packets which may be picked up at the finish line starting at 1:30PM on Thursday.
ALL FCIAC pictures will be taken for the top 15 individuals in the Varsity races immediately after the awards ceremony at the Waveny Pool.
Please remember that we are guests in Waveny Park. Runners and spectators should stay away from the Park buildings, treat the grounds with respect, and in short, conduct themselves in a manner that we will be able to return in the future. The main building (Castle) is off limits - no bathroom access! You and your team are responsible to remove all garbage.
T-shirts will be on sale at the meet for $15 (short sleeve) & $20 (long sleeve).
